Yeah, bands of today have it made. Most wouldn't know where to start without the internet.

3 very good ones. I saw Sabbath and Kiss for the first time in the 70s. Black Sabbath had a bunch of amps on the stage and that was basically it. Moxy and Nazareth opened for them. Bob Seger opened for Kiss the first time I saw them.

Sonny and Cher was actually my very first concert when I was 13 or 14. My Uncle took me. That's what got me hooked. Before that it was sitting around listening to the radio or catching Don Kirshner's Rock Concert late at night if no one was watching our only TV . Then I started hopping on my bike cruzing Austin for free music. I would go hang out in the beer garden at Armadillo World Headquarters in South Austin and listen to bands through the wall. Back then you didn't have to be drinking age to hang back there. Sounds crazy but it is something etched in my mind I will never forget. You would not begin to believe some of the bands I heard through that damn wall.

I was and still am a big Kiss fan. I also saw them in the 7os at the Summit in Houston. I just recently recorded a Kiss concert recorded live at the summit on VH! classics. I saw it listed and was hoping it was the show I went to but unfortunately it wasn't. They had a show on a Friday and a Saturday. They recorded the Saturday show and I was at the Friday one.

I am the same person that posted above. I was working on my humor and personal blog. I was in this acct and didn't feel like switching over. Swing by and leave your link. Promote your art for sale. No probs on my end. The line will always be open.

8-Track?! You are from my generation! I like how Zeppelin blew off radio stations and other media of the time and just became famous by hitting the road and making great albums.

I think my 3 desert island bands would be Black Sabbath, Hendrix and KISS.

Take care

Thanks for the kind words!

I have been a huge Motorhead fan since No Sleep 'Till Hammersmith came out and I still follow them. Unfortunately, every time they come here to play I am always out of town. One day the stars will align and I will be here when they show up.

Take care and good luck in Austin

A very good article. Growing up I thought they were the greatest band. As a teen in the 70s me and everybody around listened to Zep, The Stones, Hendrix and a others. Although I started driving in 75 at the age of 17 and always loaded up the car with friends to go to concerts I never saw Led Zepplin in their younger days. I did see the Plant and Page tour in San Antonio in the mid to late 90s. The funny thing about that was the air conditioner was broke in the stadium and it was hotter than hell. I say it is funny now but at the time it wasnt. Especially being in the nosebleed seats where all of the heat rises to.

I knew zep didnt put out singles being an avid record collector. Every so often I would hear someone say "yeah I got that on 45" when a zep song was playing on the radio. You just new they were lying but I never did call them out on it.

I was on my way out until I clicked on your RSS feed and saw this article. I am glad I did. Brought back some really good memories of cruzin the streets of Austin Tx as a youngster with Zep blarin on the 8 track.

One time someone asked me If I were stuck on a deserted island and could only have 1 bands music which would it be. I actually couldnt answer it so I chose 3. Zepplin, Stones and Hendrix. Because I love them, grew up with them, and they have a huge selection of songs. Its hard to find artist in modern times that can fill an album up with a multitude of good songs. I do like a lot of todays music, but some is only surviving due to marketing, not talent.

Dig the prints. I have been working in the music industry here in my hometown of Austin for the last 20 years. Its all behind the scenes online. No fame, no fortune, just one cool ass job. I have also met a lot of musicians over the years.

Yeah, digital imaging is so amazing I started purchasing some of the more modern art from the up and coming artist of today. It is some pretty amazing work to say the least. I also have my eye on the Lemmy print up above. He sure is getting a lot of publicity and added recognition as of late. I am glad. I always thought they were one of the most underrated bands out there. I just recently went out and bought a motorhead DVD. Saw them on a concert at vh1classics and it motivated me to do so. I have seen them a few times at a place here in Austin called the Backroom.

You havent seen Motorhead until you have seen them in a small smoky dive bar with just a few hundred drunk and stoned people. An absolutely amazing experience. Keep on keepin on my brother. I was doing the artist thing at twitter and you popped up.
